set_relation value for non primary key colums

Hi

If I use the set_relation function and join two related columns, it always takes the primary key value of the referenced table when inserting or updating.

How can I use the value of the referenced column rather than the primary key of the table.

Hope this makes sense. IF not I can give you code samples.

Apologies if this question was asked before on this Forum. I searched for the last 2 hours but I couldn't find it.
