output not showing

Hi, I was just following the newbies guide and implemented a function similar to what was used there, but when I try to echo the output variable it says:
Object id #48

Any idea what may be causing this, also it seems that my page doesn't find the css_files and js_files variables?

EDIT:
Maybe I should mention that I'm not using the standard codeigniter view function to call my views, may that be the problem?

Solved by searching the forums some more
