Can't change timepicker to 12 hour AM/PM format

Hello Grocery Crud People,

I'm using the Bootstrap theme and I can't get the timepicker to switch to 12 hour AM/PM format. I searched the forums here and found this post:

/topic/2228-datetime-picker-24-hour-time-selection/

...but it still doesn't go into the database properly, nor does it show an AM/PM button in the picker. That post is from 2013, so maybe something has changed since then.

I looked through the config files for a setting but didn't find any. I'm using Grocery Crud 1.5.8.1 and Bootstrap Theme 1.3.8.
