Getting GC to work with a framework

Hello,

I am new to GC. I am having problems getting GC to work with a CI framework/started app. I am a novice developer so forgive me if I am missing something small here, but I just can't figure out why I can't get GC to working with this framework: https://github.com/JasonBaier/ci3-fire-starter

I had no problem getting GC to work on Ubuntu LAMP, as soon as I try to incorporate it with the above mentioned framework, I get the following errors attached. I'm hoping fresh eyes could shine some light on this issue.
