Bug or known solution to 1000 limit items assignation ?

hello ! my name is Sebastian and i have a application where we assign images to users.

my current problem is that now i cannot add more that 996 items to any user in the program !

i add all images from right to left (see image). it shows me 1157 for example and when i return to this interface it shows 996 again and nothing has happened in the database.

it is this a bug ? how can i fox this limitation of 1000 images assignation ?

PLEASE HELP !

Any luck with this? I'm having the same problem. Suck at 999.
