How to prevent unnecessary data change my not be saved warning?

If I go to edit an item but do not change anything GC still gives me a warning that my "change" may not be saved when I press the [color=#0000ff]"Cancel"[/color] button or use the [color=#0000ff]"Back to list" [/color]link. Nice message if I had changed something, but I haven't. How do I prevent this message from showing up when no changes have been made?

Exact warning message:

[color=#b22222]The data you had change may not be saved.
Are you sure you want to go back to list?[/color]
