If you use $crud->field_type('agent_dec','dropdown', .... at the list you see the name used but at read you see the id.

Well that is very true Mr. Robert - the read functionality is yet to be evolved. It is out with a basic version and will get better and better. It will be great if we can spare out time and alter the GC library code for the same and provide in solutions for the issues. It will be a good helping hand to Web Johny and all of us GC members :)

 

I will look if there is a workaround - will surely give a possible solution as and when time permits.You too can spare in some time and extract a solution on the same.

I noticed the same problem. Whenever this causes confusion, I remove the "view" functionality in order to simplify things.
